PHOENIX- Just when you thought puppies couldn’t get any cuter, this one made that happen.
Meet Salvador Dolly, a 5-week-old puppy… born with a mustache.
The cute, infamous “Mustache Puppy” and her family were rescued by Hearts & Bones Rescue shelter, a 501(c)3 foster-based dog rescue in both Dallas, TX and New York City. The shelter works closely with Dallas Animal Services, another shelter with the third highest number of animal intakes in the country.
“They [Dallas Animal Shelter] took in mama and her 11 babies as strays and cared for them for 2 weeks,” Allison Seelig, head of marketing for Hearts & Bones Rescue, said. “But puppies are at a very high risk for getting sick in the shelter environment, so we knew we had to get them out.”
Hearts & Bones then went to meet the family last week and were able to find a temporary foster home in Dallas. The mother and 11 puppies are currently getting medical care and being monitored by the foster home, until the puppies are old enough to be weaned.
“We’ll be sending the whole family to NYC for adoption in late August/ early September, where they’ll go into foster homes until they find their forever families!” Seelig said.
