Gas prices are moving in the wrong direction.

AAA Arizona says that after fighting against the trend of rising gas prices, we have finally fallen into the mix. The statewide average cost of a gallon of gas in Arizona is $2.231, which is 16.3 cents more than this time last year. Over the last month, the statewide average is a two cent drop from last month. The highest metro gas prices are in Flagstaff, Ariz. ($2.502), Prescott ($2.304), and Scottsdale ($2.256). The cheapest gas is in Tucson ($2.072), Yuma ($2.157), and the East Valley ($2.170).

The national average price of a gallon of gas is $2.359, with the cheapest gas being in South Carolina ($2.093) and the most expensive being in California ($2.963).
