Summer is here… and let’s be honest, we all tend to let go a little when we’re on vacation. Studies have shown that while vacationing, according to a recent study from the University of Georgia some people gain an average of seven pounds in just 1 to 3 weeks. … Yikes! You know what that means… steer clear of those all-you-can eat buffet dinners. A little self-control can go a long way.

Here are our 6 tips for avoiding weight gain during the summer:

1.      Drink lots of water

2.      Eat small portions every 4 hours. This boosts your metabolism and allows your body to avoid storing fat.

3.      Catch those Z’s! You can lose weight… while sleeping! Doctors say sleep deprivation is one of the leading causes of weight gain. Try for 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

4.      Eat clean. Try this: Avoid fried foods or foods that come in a snack bag. 

5.      Get active

6.      Skip the soda… try fruit-infused water instead
