Arizona farms are bringing in billions of dollars.
Putting more than food on the table, the Arizona agriculture industry is bringing in big bucks. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) says Arizona farm revenue has reached $4.1 billion in 2016. Arizona ranks sixth of 11 western states in the amount of cash receipts, the total amount of money farmers are paid for their crops. California is first on the list, but Arizona beat out Utah, New Mexico and Nevada on the list. Arizona agriculture expanded more than 25 million acres from 19,600 operations, producing $4.7 billion pounds ($722 million) of milk.
