Phoenix Veterans Day Parade

Let’s get this weekend started! Here are five things to do around the valley.

Movies in the Desert at Odysea: Coco
See the classic animated film Coco come to life with Movies in the Desert!

This free event includes activities for the whole family to enjoy. Before the show, guests can enjoy a character meet-and-greet with a photo opportunity. There’s also a sugar skull arts and crafts area, a lesson on how to draw your spirit animal, a giveaway table and more! Plus, there are plenty of opportunities for you to eat before show time.

Make sure to come early to claim a spot and bring a folding chair. Some seating is available, but it is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The event is on Nov. 10 at 9500 East Via de Ventura in Scottsdale. The pre-show festivities begin at 5 p.m. and the movie will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

On top of the music, there will be an art walk, a kid’s play area, a relaxation station (where I would be), vendors, and food and drinks.

This is an all ages event and children 12 and under can get in free.

For a limited time, they are offering a 2 for 1 ticket special where you can buy two passes for $50 that include entry into the festival for both days.

Head to 1st and Washington streets in Phoenix on Nov. 10-11 from 12-10 p.m. for all the excitement.

The music duo is coming to Phoenix for a night of fun on Friday, Nov. 9. The concert takes place at Talking Stick Resort Arena and you can still purchase tickets to the show.

The two-man band consists of lead vocalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. You might have heard some of their music on the radio such as “Stressed Out”, “Ride” and “Heathens.”

The show begins at 7 p.m.

The Phoenix Veterans Day Parade

To honor the men and women who have fought for our country, Phoenix hosts a parade every year.

The parade is normally held on Nov. 11. However, out of respect to local churches, the event is being moved to Monday, Nov. 12.

Over 2,500 people will be participating in the event with floats, bands, marching units, and more! Eight Veteran Grand Marshals will be present, each representing an era of military service from World War II to present day.

The parade begins at 11 a.m., heading south on Central Avenue from Montebello Drive to Camelback Road and ending at Indian School Road around 1 p.m.

Visitor parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis along the side streets around the parade route

If you want a great seat, we recommend getting there early.
