PHOENIX- There’s roughly eight weekends until the New Year so here’s eight holiday activities to fill your family’s calendar.
Glendale Glitters– Open Nov. 29 to Jan.11, Glendale Glitters is Arizona’s “largest free holiday light display and a beloved family tradition.” Over 1.6 million bulbs illuminate the city over 16 blocks. The display is open nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
World of Illumination– Experience “the world’s largest animated drive through holiday light show” from the comfort of your car. Lights dance to the sound of holiday classics. There are two locations in Tempe and Glendale with different displays.
Phoenix Zoo’s ZooLights– Explore the Phoenix Zoo in a new light, literally. The park is covered in holiday decor starting Nov. 27 and ending Jan. 19. Plus, check out the new Wildlife Lantern Safari with 60 glowing creatures.
Desert Botanical Garden’s Las Noches de Las Luminarias– Stroll through the Desert Botanical Garden lit with 8,000 luminaria bags. Plus, enjoy music from “eclectic” entertainment groups. The event runs from the end of Nov. through Dec.
Desert Ridge Tree Lighting and Snowfall– Feast your eyes on stilt-walking princesses, life-size toys and more. A cirque-style show opens to the man of the hour, Santa, lighting the shopping center’s massive tree.
Outlets at Anthem Tree Lighting– Watch Arizona’s tallest Christmas tree light up surrounded by music and a special performance from Musical Theatre of Anthem.
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Winterland– The self-proclaimed “Christmas headquarters” celebrates ten years of celebrations with a new Winterland, featuring four million sparkling lights, ice skating, pictures with Santa and more.
