The deadline to file your taxes this year has been extended to Monday, April 18th, at midnight. So you have two extra days to procrastinate before cramming your taxes in before Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tonight!

Great question! Say thank you to Washington D.C.’s holiday Emancipation Day, which falls on April 16th. If the holiday falls on a holiday, it is celebrated on the closest weekday which just so happens to be tax day this year!

While you’re at the bar cheersing your glasses to Emancipation Day, drop this bit of tax knowledge to impress your friends.
