I can think of a dozen events happening this weekend. Races, walks, outdoor festivals, scream houses and pumpkin patches to be picked. Oh, and football.
And finally the weather is just right to get out and enjoy it all.
While you’re reading this I’m sure you’re jogging through your weekend checklist.
For me it includes two events we here at CW6 are proud to lend our support to – I will be Hosting both events this Saturday.
Saturday morning my CW6 team has sponsored the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Tempe Beach Park.
We will join more than 4-thousand runners and walkers impacted by cancer.
I’ll be the voice you hear though kick-off of the 3.2 mile walk around Tempe Town Lake benefiting the American Cancer Society.
I have been reading through the script this week in preparation.
When I Host an event, the organization I’m supporting typically provides me with a script with statistics and messaging about the cause. It’s a quick education about organizations in our community who are doing great work.
The scripts are written by the people who work day in and day out with survivors and researchers – they are the experts teaching me how to be their voice.
Typically I study up and find moments to adlib throughout the event, but it’s really important to stay on-point with their message because it’s little facts and stories that are always the most memorable for people attending.
I look forward to hugs and talking to survivors and their family members, friends and caregivers.
I’ll be inviting sponsors and survivors up to speak about their involvement in the event. It’s going to be an inspirational way to start the day.
We’re all in it together, and I’m privileged to represent my team at CW6 and be your voice on Saturday morning.
If you’d like to join us Saturday, open registration begins at 7 A.M..
Then on Saturday night I’m excited to be Hosting the Miss North Phoenix / Miss Glendale Pageant – part of the Miss America Pageant system.
The Pageant organizers sent me in for a dress fitting this week at Glam Squad in Scottsdale.
It’s tucked away in those cute old shops near Scottsdale Road and Shea in Scottsdale. It’s THE place for glitzy pageant dresses.
My style is a bit more simplistic, but who doesn’t love a little sparkle. These are a few of the dresses I tried on.
I went with this great black dress in the middle and some big binged out earrings.
I can’t wait for this weekend. Being a part of our community is very important to me and my team at CW6 and yourphx.com.
